If you want to shock people and be controversial, having talent makes it far more effective. Now I would have thought that it would be hard to argue with that statement. I noticed that someone had checked the "Rubbish" box. I wonder who thinks that they are talentless and that I am having a go at them? Truth hurts !

It made me snigger - Guess who?
Yesterday I posted this blog The Great Masturbator with the following comment next to Dali's masterpiece.
Dear RogT, it was I who ticked the Rubbish button. Am I talentless? No. Di I think you were having a go at me? No. I have studied History of Art at a very high level, and I thought for your comment, you picked a poor example of Dali's work, probably more because of the name, and given the artists own thoughts on the work I thought you could have researched the topic slightly better
ReplyDeleteFYI, I also voted for Steak and Scallops, not because I am a part of the Conservative caballah as you suspect, but because I found the poll a bit silly.
Do please cease your paranoia and go back to what most people read this for, and cast your acerbic eye over the council; it's what you do well.
Pat,
ReplyDeleteI didn't pick the painting because it was his best work, but because it was controversial and illustrated my point. The title of the blog wasn't "Dali's finest moment".
The poll was silly, it was meant to be. I thought it was funny & hoped a few other people did.
As to paranoia, I actually thought it was quite funny that someone should tick that particular rubbish block. I guess I hadn't figured on running into art snobs on my travels.
As to what I do well, I'm a punk rock musician, I try and stick to what I do rather badly !
