Thursday was a great night for Great Britain
A truly amazing thing happened on Thursday night and you know what? I only just found out. I just received a breakdown of the results for all London councils. Sure as a Lib Dem it was a bad night for us, but I'm primarily a member of the human race and we had a great night. Did you know that the BNP lost all eleven councillors they had on Barking Council? THEY NOW HAVE A BIG FAT ZERO !!!! They had hoped to win Parliamentary seats in places such as Stoke and were exterminated. Why? Because there was a huge turnout. On the campaign trail I was asked a question? Would I ever vote Conservative. My answer was "Without hesitation, if it was the only way to stop the BNP". It seems that all we need to stop the BNP is for people to turn up and vote for the party they like. The BNP have been shown what the British people think of them. All their crass attempts to hijack the legacy of Winston Churchill have failed. All their efforts to poison the spirit of Great Britain have been rejected. I had struggled to make sense of what happened on Thursday, now it makes perfect sense. Two sensible mainstream parties are talking amicably trying to put together a deal to make Great Britain a better place. If they fail, an agreement between two or three other parties will happen instead. No one will be locked up for their political views, no one will suffer more than shattered dreams and illusions. Had the BNP succeeded as they had been predicting, fear and loathing would have crept into the system. Whatever happens, however unhappy you are with these cobbled together alliances, see the bigger picture. A great thing happened on Thursday. The British public turned out en mass and rejected the concept of fascism, nazism, intolerance and racism full stop. The BNP have no excuses for the tonking they received. The plain truth is that when the British turn up en mass to vote, they kick them out. That is a cause for celebration.
The BNP were never popular. The media & the Labour party talk them up. The media talk them up out of pure devilment and the Labour party talk them up so they can lock out smaller parties and independents from control of local authorities. A lot of people in my area who voted Labour were told that the BNP were about to win in our area. They didn't even have a candidate in these parts. Whenever they came on air they talked about race issues and their leader claimed white people who live in London were stupid. God knows why he thinks that. Now we've seen they're no threat to anyone I hope that at the next election they're not even mentioned by anyone in the media.
