Babylons Burning - The Rut
Babylon's burning
You're burning the street
You're burning your houses
With anxiety
With anxiety
Babylon's burning
Babylon's burning
With anxiety
Babylon's burning
Babylon's burning
Babylon's burning
You're burning the street
You're burning the ghetto
With anxiety
With anxiety
Babylon's burning
Babylon's burning
With anxiety
Babylon's burning
Babylon's burning
Babylon's burning, baby
Can't you see?
Babylon's burning
With anxiety
You'll burn as your work
You'll burn at your play
smouldering
With ignorance and hate
And with anxiety
Babylon's burning
Babylon's burning
With anxiety
Babylon's burning
Babylon's burning
Babylon's burning, baby
Can't you see?
Babylon's burning
With anxiety
Babylon's burning
Babylon's burning
Babylon is... burning
Babylon's burning
Babylon's burning
Babylon's burning
You're burning the street
You're burning your houses
With anxiety
With anxiety
Babylon's burning
Babylon's burning
With anxiety
Babylon's burning
Babylon's burning
Babylon's burning
You're burning the street
You're burning the ghetto
With anxiety
With anxiety
Babylon's burning
Babylon's burning
With anxiety
Babylon's burning
Babylon's burning
Babylon's burning, baby
Can't you see?
Babylon's burning
With anxiety
You'll burn as your work
You'll burn at your play
smouldering
With ignorance and hate
And with anxiety
Babylon's burning
Babylon's burning
With anxiety
Babylon's burning
Babylon's burning
Babylon's burning, baby
Can't you see?
Babylon's burning
With anxiety
Babylon's burning
Babylon's burning
Babylon is... burning
Babylon's burning
Babylon's burning
Babylon's burning
Great song Rog
ReplyDeleteI don't think last night's result was surprising at all. It is a fair representation of the complete state of disorder the Tory group is in, and underlines the low calibre of political ability of most Tory councillors. Contrary to your comment some blogs ago, Rog, I did not back Mark Shooter to win, as whoever wins the Tory leadership is never going to be supported by me. In retrospect, however, he looks like the best leader they could have hoped for, and perhaps the fact that he is untainted by the ghastly, grasping, cowardly tradition of most long serving Tories on this council might have brought some much needed decency and common sense to the administration. Harper is a cool customer and does not strike me as someone blessed with empathy for the plight of the disadvantaged, and would be an unfortunate choice, should he manage to wangle his way to the leadership. Shooter should not give up, in my view, if he has any political strength he will fight on and might still win. Hillan is finished, the only question now is when not if she goes, and who will take over.
