Barnet Council caught breaking its own rules on consultation

On this blogs sister blog, The Future Shape leaks blog, I have just published two emails. One is from Barnet Council stating that the Save Barnets Libraries Petition will be considered as part of the review by Barnet Council Cabinet on 29th March. The second email states that the petition cannot be displayed for signature at libraries in Barnet because it is not part of the formal review process. So is it part of the formal review process or isn't it?

It is patently obvious to me that as nearly 5,000 people have signed the petition, three times more than have participated in the consultation, that Councillor Robert Rams and Barnet Council are running scared. They abhor the concept that the public may ACTIVELY ENGAGE and set their own terms for consultation.  One thing which is patently obvious is that the council has extreme problems dealing honestly and openly with us, the tax paying public in Barnet.

Here's the link to the full exchange of emails
