Today we publish an email on our Barnet future shape website where we detail how Brian Coleman claims to be "horrified that residents were being charged less than £2 a week to park outside their own homes.

So you've got that. A Conservative politician who's ambition is to be the most expensive Borough in London!
Coleman goes on to state :-

I was frankly horrified at the state of it when I took over in May and at £100 our permits are less than £2 a week and will still be cheaper than Westminster , Camden , Hammersmith and Bexley

Well yes Brian, you will if this blog has anything to do with it. You are a disgrace and it's time for you to go. You were elected to look after residents, not to rob them.I do not imagine these proposals are going to be politically popular but we are going to have to face far more flack than this in the next couple of months !!
Sorry: the deputy leader has to ask 'what's the line' on the new charges? Is he not part of whatever process decides on these hikes? If not, why is he so out of the loop that he has to ask - and in such a timid way? Tells you everything you need to know about the dynamics in the Tory group.
ReplyDeleteWhy not a tax on driveways? The problem is that Mr Coleman and his friends have off-street parking. The poorer citizens of Barnet do not and have to pay to park on the street. This is just a way to tax the less well off who need a car but cannot afford to have a house with off street parking
ReplyDeleteAnd all the concreted driveways cause addition flood risk to houses.
ReplyDeleteIn some roads, the sewers have to handle twice the surface area of land during sudden heavy rain than they were designed for.
Meanwhile, Brian-Webwatch has come up with this Labourblog: http://torytroll.blogspot.com/2011/02/brian-coleman-slammed-for-completely.html.
Talking about the alleged state of 'Manuel' on one occasion at the Conservative Party Conference, it is excellent news that David Cameron has decided to take some firm action.
ReplyDeleteLike that Baarnet lol.So an update on Manuel the one eyed soup waiter from Hendon.I had to sit down for five minutes and study the picture of an apperition in the Hendon times, and ask myself is that the ghost of Manuel or is it Lazerous, all of you please frame that picture,as you will not see that face for a very long time to come on the streets of Hendon,Hayleys comet will return beforehand..
