Barnet Innovationbank is launched today

http://www.innovationbankbarnet.org.uk/

To quote :-

Do you have a great idea? We are looking for ideas from you – local citizens and communities – with the potential to make positive change in Barnet.  The Innovation Bank will be providing money and business support to people who have great ideas for addressing local challenges.  We will need your idea by 29 July. Why not have a look at our ‘How can I apply‘ page?

-------------------------------

Yeah, I have a great idea. Get a team of bloggers to expose the failings of Barnet Council in not checking references for their in house security contract, not following their own or HM customs procedures for paying invoices, throwing out all good safeguarding practice and spying on residents with CCTV cameras.

Yeah if Barnet want to give me a few grand in a brown envelope for my role, that would be nice. Maybe I should submit an invoice? Unlike the tens of millions of pounds they've spent on auditors, computer systems & consultants, why is it that a team of bloggers can discover that the whole system is completely broken simply because a stroppy security guard didn't wear any proper ID? What do these people do all day?

  1. I did ask for a grant for a bloggers' conference at the Sandbanks Hotel, Poole, but they haven't got back to me yet ...

  3. Of course it isn't a bank at all; imagine with Barnet Council's experience of placing money on deposit in very cold Countries how many more of our assets could get frozen if Barnet Council ran a real bank; I have come over all funny at the thought of it - must make myself some hot strong tea.

  5. How about starting a wecsite where you can pledge to do things. After no interest, turn it into a street party booking site
