Workshops:
A Sense of Place with Pearse and Black 13th November, 7-9pm
Josie Pearse and Penny Black want to offer you a sample of what they can offer as teachers and mentors to your writing. The Vestry House, St Giles in the Field, is steeped in writing history. It's  quiet, atmospheric, and with a huge 400 year old table. This session costs just £10 as it is a taster for the 8 week course starting in January. Please see their website for more detail about that. Hot drink and a biscuit provided and writerly networking of course.
New Books:

Emily Benet's new RomCom The Temp is out - and the ebook is currently on offer for only 99p (paperback coming out in December)
“The first word that springs to mind is fresh. Amber is quirky and funny, and her story was an absolute delight to follow. What really struck me about this book was just how utterly, unabashedly British it was.” – Bookworm Reviews
Allen Ashley also has a new book out
The book is Dreaming Spheres: Poems of the Solar System a poetry collection , co-written with Sarah Doyle (guest at Greenacre Festival 2013). Publisher is World Fantasy, award winning publisher PS Publishing (UK).

Alex Wheatle is venturing into YA fiction
Alex Wheatle's debut YA title Liccle Bit will publish under the Atom imprint in March 2015. Liccle Bit follows the self-narrated story of Lemar, a boy growing up on an inner city estate. He might be the second shortest guy in his year, but he's got big dreams. Alex Wheatle said, 'I'm very excited to offer my first contribution to YA fiction. It's been a fantastic journey of discovery, writing this novel, and I hope many teenagers out there will enjoy meeting Lemar and his friends, who have been a joy to write.'

New Publishing House:
Mezzanotte Ltd
We have just opened our doors and are currently looking for sexy romantic contemporaries with a great conflict and enough sparks flying between the two leading characters to set their world on fire. If you've written a novel that gets the readers dreaming, please let us know. We love nothing more than stunning settings, fabulously sexy heroes, smart heroines, and all that passion...

The Walking Writer
Greenacre Writers organised The Walking Writer from West Finchley along Dollis Brook and up to Swan Lane Open Space, Whetstone. Along the way we stopped for readings and writing, advice and reflection. We turned off mobile phones and had periods of silence where we listened to the breeze in the trees and concentrated on the senses. Luckily there was no sound of rain. Find out more here.
