Breaking News: polling station cock up - voters being turned away at Barnet polling stations

Apparently Barnet Council have distributed the wrong lists to polling stations, so voters are being turned away. Make sure you bring your polling card with you.

Please email or tweet us with your experiences. This may result in the election being declared null and void, all thanks to Barnet Council and their incompetence.

Update :

National TV and press now covering the story but Barnet have put nothing on their website. Just a story saying they are imposing CCTV fines. Deputy leader of Barnet Council, Dan Thomas has not said anything about the cock up. Just a tweet that he's going out canvassing for his campaign.

Update at 12:00
Barnet Council tweeted at 11:10 to say problem fixed. Text as below.

Updated electoral registers are now in place and people can vote as normal.
We apologise for the problems.   ow.ly/4nrS1M

Meanwhile Deputy Leader of Council, Dan Thomas tweeted

'Knocking on doors and meeting voters in Hampstead.'

So he's clearly none to keen on seeing voters in Barnet at the moment.
