The Wednesday Poem #28 - Pat Walsh RIP

Sorry mate, been so long,
I meant to call you back,
There was always something more urgent,
And I was just too slack,

Sorry mate, just wanted to say thanks,
For being a friend to me,
When I was at my lowest,
Pat Walsh RIP.

Pat Walsh was one of my best friends at Finchley Catholic High School between 1973 and 1978. I last spoke to him in 1979. He called when I was busy. Promised to call him back, never got around to it. Guess I never will now. Got an email yesterday from the school alumni. He passed away in 2015.

I don't regret too many things, but I regret not calling Pat back.
