Why have the bins not been collected in Mill Hill this week

Earlier in the year, we saw a massive breakdown in the Barnet Council waste collection service die to problems at the depot where the dustcarts were stationed. Hugely expensive remedial work had to be done, with homes missing collections whilst the mess was sorted out. The whole mess was caused as the council made a hugely expensive and silly decision to close the old depot in Mill Hill. This was a perfectly good site, in the middle of the Borough with excellent road links. The new depot required a complete rework of all routes and an increase in staff costs as collection routes have become longer and less economical. The council have had to bring in all manner of changes to rosters to ensure that the deliveries are made.

My road, Millway, in Mill Hill Ward was due to have a collection yesterday (one of the hottest days of the year). It appears that this did not happen. We now have a line of smelly bins up the road. I have reported the issue, as yet without response.

What I want to know is whether this is just an issue in Millway or is there still a wider problem of missed deliveries in the Borough. So if the council have missed your road, let us know.
