The Wednesday Poem #49 - The Ladies of the Blue Rinse brigade?

I used to see them everywhere?
With big long coats and prisine hair?
Mess with them I wouldn't dare

At the bus stop in there hats
In their garden with their cats
You'd see them standing having chats

Dressed in black edged with lace
Hold themselves with style and grace
Fragrent smells and a made up face

Where did they go?
Who took them away?
The ladies of the blue rinse brigade
