Firstly, I've neglected this feature over the last three weeks. If you've not followed the blog, this is due to being rather tired following my radical prostatectomy procedure on the 9th August and also a weekend trip to France to recuperate with my wife that turned into a whole week, thanks to air traffic control and Easyjet. What should have been a two hour flight Nice morphed into a 15 hour train journey involving a sleeper to Paris and the Eurostar to St Pancras. But hey ho, I'm back and here we go.
1. Lets start with some wonderful local history from our friends at the Mill Hill Historical society
Colindale, November 1929: two trolley buses, a motor lorry and a hay cart are involved in a crash, with the trolley bus overturning, lucky no one was hurt!

For hundreds of years the hay carts ferried hay down the Edgware Road to London and brought back horse dung for the fields pic.twitter.com/tIeNamkXRh
2. Another nice thread from @time_nw
Edgware British Railways (Great Northern) Station, in the mid-1950s. By this time, it had ceased to be used for passengers. The buildings in the distance are on Station Road, and to the right beyond the tree, another pie e of lost Edgware...

3. Looks like a good production here
#summerschool Fully staged, off book, note perfect, and hilarious. All achieved in a whistlestop week! Bravi tutti, that was amazing. Kudos and huge thanks to @graceconductor @bexger @jenny_perry and the music staff and chaperones πππ pic.twitter.com/q9oe8gsOZN

4. We are big fans of the Phoenix!
#NationalCinemaDay #Saturdaycinema The wonderful Phoenix Cinema East Finchley. Opened in 1911 as the Picturedrome (Arch S. Birdwood) & in continuous use ever since. Externally it has been remodelled but the interior unchanged since 1938. @Artdecomagpie pic.twitter.com/OA3fHFlyRz

6. We love Mill Hill Observatory
Scopes on Screen: still more from Midsomer Murders' "Written in the Stars". Cameo appearance by one of the Celestron 14s at UCL's Mill Hill Observatory near London (possibly the same one students used to find SN 2014J in M82?) #TelescopeTuesday (400th in a weekly series!) pic.twitter.com/BUMfyKO92g
