That is one of the core aims of future shape programme. Well, how about maximising involvement of your residents by web casting committee meetings. As the numerous Future Shape reports have promoted the increased use of web based technology why not start with council committee meetings.

Even better for residents with disabilities who may find it more difficult to attend committee meetings?

Well with web based technology everyone could log on in their own time to listen and view what their local council is doing on their behalf.

Barnet always one to lead where others dare not go would not be the first. Here are but a few Councils who are promoting local democracy by making council committee meetings available for all residents.
