It's Policy Jim, but not as we know it
It seems that "Don't Call Me Dave" and my efforts to inject a bit of sense into Mike Freer and Barnet Council finances has not gone unnoticed. It seems that Mr Spock - Sorry MP John Redwood, the Tories very own alien, has realised that we may be on to something. Read David's "Barnet Inflation Shock" story for full details. Me, I'm going to sue Mr Redwood for plagarism unless he rings up the Leader of Barnet Council, asks him the 10 questions listed and then posts the answers on my blog and Davids!!! When I started my blog, I didn't expect it to become the official policy of the Conservative Party. Isn't life strange. Next thing they'll be renationalising the railways, abolishing the NHS internal market, protecting the green belt and banning sale of playing fields (if they've got any sense).
(If you read reports of me found dead lying in a ditch, suffering the effects of a Vulcan death grip, you know that Redwood took my threats literally)!

Although John Redwood is considered a right wing Conservative, his suggestions for keeping down council tax have nothing to do with political ideology. His blog was just simple old fashioned common sense. But as someone once told me, the problem with common sense is that it ain’t so common.
David Cameron’s recently announced proposals to embrace localism and give real power back to local communities is the most refreshing policy idea from the Conservatives for some time and I will be glad to bang the drum for them on this one!
John Redwood and Norman Tebbit are far more than academic ideologues. Their value to British politics is they understand what the 'man in the street' wants from government more than the 'well meaning' folk who spend their money on their pet schemes.
One of the Thatcher government's bravest traits was to stand up to vested interests, ironically, to give to the many and not the few.
Bravo Mr Redwood!
