Some exciting news from The False Dots

Just in case you are not aware of this, I am the lead singer and guitarist in The False Dots. The band has been around in various guises since 1979. Of late we've been rather productive. In May, we went to Seirra Vista studios in Portugal to finish of our new album, entitled  "A finger in the Sun", with the musical genius that is Boz Boorer.

Today we are proud to release our Summer video from the Album, entitled "Men and Motors", which is a humourous look at the car culture of the lads of North West London in the 1970's and 1980's. It features some landmarks which will be familiar to many locals.

We think it's a banging tune, it features a snippet of Beethoven's "Ode to Joy" as many men's biggest joy in life is there motor (although we are not allowed to say that anymore!) with a musical nod to Madness "Driving in my car" hidden in the mix!

And we are doubly pleased to announce that the False Dots will be resuming their residency at The Dublin Castle in Camden Town on Friday 15th September, where you'll be able to hear this fine number and the rest of the album in the flesh.

So if you like a bit of skanking, London music and a bit of a party, you know what you need to do!

And  finally, we still have our Burnt Oak Boogie mugs on sale at Mill Hill Music Complex, if you fancy a bit of nice local memorabelia!
