RIP Tommy Ramone

The last of the original line up of US punk pioneers, Tommy Ramone has died. The Ramones were quite simply the best live band ever. I first saw them on 6th June 1977 at the Roundhouse and the gig changed my life. There would be no Mill Hill Music Complex withoit the Ramones and 1,000 musicians a week would have no home.Tommy was the heartbeat of the band and in many ways responsible for the minimalist simplicity and beauty ofthe bands first threealbums. Isaw The Ramones over 20 times and treasure every second of those gigs. Thanks Tommy. Give the boys my love at the big gig in the sky.
