Bye bye Brian Coleman - Coleman gets the boot !

I don't normally write blogs on other people's blogs where I can add nothing to the story, but I'll make an exception just this once. The rather excellent Tory Troll blog broke the news that Brian Coleman has got the boot from one of his many "part time jobs". It solved a bit of a mystery as my stats have shown for a couple of days that many people have found my blog by doing a google search on "BRIAN COLEMAN SACKED".

Anyway because so many people are trying to find out what has happened to Barnets esteemed mayor, here is what the Troll has to say.
The LGA confirmed to me this morning that Brian is no longer Chairman of the National Organisation of Employers of Local Authority Fire & Rescue Services.
During the Standards case I launched against Brian Coleman, he stated that the Tory Troll is a proper blog and Adam Bienkov who runs it is a proper blogger (unlike myself, who Coleman described in less flattering terms). On this matter I totally agree, Adam is a superb blogger and if someone else had to break the sad news about  Colemans demise, I can think of no-one better to break it (well actually I can, but you know what I mean).

Tonight was meant to be a non drinking evening, but I may just crack open a Guinness to celebrate.

What are the BNP really like?

If I had to name the bravest politician in Britain, who would I pick? In actual fact I'd pick someone, who I disagree with about a few fundamental issues. I'd pick Peter Tatchell. Peter has stood up for what he believes on countless occasions. He got thumped trying to perform a citizens arrest on Robert Mugabe and he got thumped recently in Moscow for attending a gay rights protest. Has it stopped him? Nope. Just like the nastiest byelection campaign in my lifetime saw the gay and in the closet Lib Dem Simon Hughes beat the gay and out of the closet Peter Tatchell, in a campaign which revolved around Tatchells sexuality. Thing is though, whatever you think of Tatchell, he is a very brave man.

For reasons I can't quite fathom, the BNP don't seem too keen on brave people. Recently the BNP leader was on the BBC saying VC winner Johnson Beharry could never be British. Now they are having a go at Peter Tatchell. If you follow the link I've given (it contains a warning that the material is unpleasant) you will see what the numpties have to say about him.

If you don't wish to sully your computer, I've copied it here.

Pervert dreads BNP victory

Human Rights campaigner and odious arse bandit Peter Tatchell is urging all lesbian, gay and bisexuals, to utilise their votes at the European Election in order to stop the BNP...

Tatchell bleats:
"As we all know, the BNP is a racist and homophobic party. It refuses to allow non-white people to be members and wants to pressure black people to leave the UK. As well as supporting a policy of de facto 'ethnic cleansing,' the BNP has fought previous general elections on a pledge to outlaw homosexuality. It has described Aids as "nature taking revenge" on gay men. It opposed the repeal of Section 28 and the equalisation of the age of consent."
What better reason to vote BNP on the 4th of june than to piss this horrible pervert off!

Below: Tatchell gets clubbed in Moscow!

Bring the Russian police over here I say!

No!

We don't want foreign police on our streets!

Just make it legal to administer a beating to the likes of Tatchell...

Not much to ask is it?

The Author of this blog trades under the name "Britain Awake". It is vital that Britain does awake to what these people are saying. In case you are wondering what lead me to this blog, I was looking at an Anti BNP story on the ToryTroll blog. If you read through the comments, you will see one left by "Britain Awake" - be warned, it's not pleasant. I thought I'd look at his profile and his blog. I really think it is important that people who advocate violence are exposed for the thugs they are.

We all have a vision for how we'd like Great Britain to be. One blog which made me smile recently was Scarlett The Heavenly Healer's blog detailing the exploits at the "Alternative Miss World Party". I guess that if "Britain Awake" has his way, a team of Riot Police would have stormed in and beaten everyone to a pulp. My vision is rather different. I hope your is too.

London Assembly Update: Darren Johnson - Not fit to serve Lunch !

Darren Johnson, Green Party London Assembly member has been elected as chair of the London Assembly. It seems that his appointment has not been greeted with universal praise. One London Assembly member feels that Mr Johnson is just not made of the right stuff. He said that Mr Johnson has a track record of failing to deliver on key issues which clearly matter to the Senior Conservative Assembly members. In a withering speech given at the assembly today, he destroys the reputation of Mr Johnson. In a valiant attempt to save London from Mr Johnson & his wicked ways, he set out the case for the alternative Tory candidate, Andrew Boff - "who also won't serve roast beef without horseradish sauce at dinner"

What a philistine this Johnson must be ! Who is the Tory luminary, who has clearly identified the issue which concerns Londoners the most during these times of recession and job losses? You know, I just can't remember - but if you ask the Tory Troll maybe he knows.

Stalinism at the Barnet Tory Bugle

The Edgware and Mill Hill Times. My local paper. I used to look forward to it popping through the door on a Thursday. In the 70's & 80's, back when Dennis Signy was the editor, it used to be a great local paper. It used to win awards. Being a muso, I especially liked the local music scene coverage. There was a column called, among other things, "Pop Round the Corner". I can still name the writers. Kevin Black - a gregarious Scot who used to write great reviews of my band, The False Dots (without ever turning up). Then there was Joy Bentley. I suspect she didn't much like the False Dots, but she still wrote nice things. Then there was the superstar - Clarence Mitchell. He went on to ITN and was last heard of working as PR consultant for Madeleine McCann's parents. Clarence actually used to turn up. He was also a very nice bloke.

There was also a guy called Bill Montgomery, who was the Barnet Council reporter. He would attend the most boring of meetings and find something to make it seem interesting. He'd make & break the careers of up and coming politicos with a well placed wry observation.

Fast forward to 2009. The paper has morphed into the Barnet Tory Bugle. I detailed this in a blog recently. Whilst the paper is happy to run overtly racist and anti Irish articles and letters, hagiographic peans to promenant local Barnet Cabinet members and verbatim Barnet press releases, it doesn't put letters from opponents of policies such as sheltered housing warden cuts on it's website. Strangely the Barnet Press is full of such letters.

For those of you with an interest in 20th Century history, you will recall that in Stalinist Russia, once someone fell foul of the regime, they became a non person. Artists would carefully airbrush every trace of them out of pictures. References in books would be removed. In short they would cease to exist. Well it seems that following my criticism of the Bugle, they've airbrushed me out. As you may recall, I used to write a blog for the Times, until their in house psychic deemed that at some point in the future, I may get them into trouble. My services were dispensed with, but the blogs remained. I put a link at the side here, so that if anyone was interested they could have a look. For my audacity to criticise them, they've zapped me, if you click the link, you'll see I've gone. Now you may think that this is just a tidy up, but Mike Freer's blog, which ended around the same time is still there. I'll tell you a funny story about Freer stopping his blog. He announced it at a council meeting. I mentioned this in a blog and a reporter from the Times emailed me to prove the allegation. I immediately emailed back with a link to the written answers, posted a week before on Barnets website. I've spoken to David Miller, author of Barnet Council Watch about the Times on a number of occasions and he says they are always moaning that he beats them to stories. I've also noticed that many stories are nicked, with no ackowledgement from the Tory Troll website.

I don't know if you've noticed how thin the Times has got recently. I suspect that this is due to advertisers deserting it. The Press meantime seems to get fatter by the week. I suspect that this is due to the more balanced coverage. I find it rather sad, to see the paper deteriorate by the week. One final twist of the knife from the Times to me. I typed my name "Tichborne" into the Times search engine, to see if any of my 61 blogs had escaped the cull. I found 3. The top one was

The Tragedy of Lady Thatcher - a personal view

This details my sympathy for the Thatcher family on a personal level, coping with their mums dementure.

The second was

The Big Match - Councillor Brian Gordon meets his nemesis !!!!!
Detailing how a local Tory Councillor had done an OK job chairing the Hendon Residents association meeting.

The Third was

Great Expectations (the male view) Part 2 - What's in a name?
Detailing my experiences naming my kids.

In short, anyone looking for my blogs would probably conclude I was a Tory childcare expert. Oh well, catch them while you can, I'm sure they'll be gone soon.

Well how does it feel to be Stalin'd??? In the words of the Rolling Stones

Who reads yesterdays papers, who wants yesterdays news
Who reads yesterdays papers, no one in the world.

I've no pretentions to be Shakespeare or Dickens, I find it rather funny.

Barnet Eye weekly round up

A few blogs to check out (or not ***)
There is a great blog on Barnet Council Watch today about Leo Boland's leaving do,a sking the question - who is paying? Is it the Mayor or is it the Taxpayer?

Another thing which will interest the statto's out there is the Iain Dale blog talking about how many hits he's been getting. Iain is probably the number one Tory blogger and he's pretty established (Given that I've only been on Blogspot since October and the blog is mostly about Barnet and London, I must say I'm certainly pleased wih my number of hits).

Tory Troll does a great blog on Brian Coleman's latest round of excesses. It's a fairly left leaning blog.

GLA Tory Roger Evans CITY HALL blog has an interesting round up of business at GLA members question time.

*** Probably the most revolting Blog entry I've seen this week was BNP blogger Simon Darby. Avoid this with food). He has a load of pictures of a World War II themed fund raising event. The irony of the fact that the whole point of the second world war was to defeat Nazi and Fascist ideology seems to have missed the BNP. I know quite a few vets and none of them support the BNP. The ones I know would find this shameful and disgusting. My dear old dad who was a bomber pilot would have probably thrown a Mills bomb in there had he still been around.

Lastly a blog I usually give a wide berth to, but I thought it deserved a comment. Guido Fawkes comments on the Jonah like effect his visits have to sporting teams. Now I would have thought that as a Scotsman, this would soon be picked up on in his Bonny homeland and the more England games he goes to the more votes he'll get. I suspect that this may be the reason for the resurgence of Labour in SNP seats.

Anyway I hope you've all had a lovely weekend and have a great week.

P.S - I thought I'd just mention a slight change of policy. I used to studiously avoid linking to BNP supporting sites, but I've come to the conclusion that the more people see what the numpties are really like, the better. I trust anyone reading this blog to be intelligent enough to form their own views. The more I see of their blogs, the more delusional it seems they are.
