Jim wrote a guest blog detailing his life and work in the Congo in 2012. I am sure this work will be the legacy he leaves, it is well worth a read http://barneteye.blogspot.co.uk/2012/10/guest-blog-news-from-fr-jim-fanning-in.html

Fr Jim Fanning RIP
So sad to hear of the passing of my cousin Jim yesterday. He was a great friend as well as a cousin. He'd always stop by when passing through Mill Hill. I was priveliged to host a family party to celebrate the 40th anniversary of his ordination as a priest a couple of years back at our house. It was an amazing event and great to see so many cousins together. Jim was an inspirational figure spending his life working with the poor in Africa. He wanted to make a difference, which is a truly noble thing to do.
