Capita Confirmed as One Barnet preferred bidder


The following email was sent by acting CEO of Barnet Council, Andrew Travers to all staff today

Subject: NSCSO Preferred Bidder announcement

Capita have been confirmed as the officer recommendation for preferred bidder for the NSCSO project and trade unions are currently being briefed. Staff immediately affected will be receiving a detailed briefing this afternoon.

Details of the recommended bid will then be published in Budget and Performance Overview and Scrutiny Committee papers this afternoon and I will be sending you more details later.

Ah, Capita. This leaped out at me from their Wikipedia page:

"In 2006 Capita Financial Administrators (CFA) was fined £300,000 by the Financial Services Authority for having poor anti-fraud controls."

I know, six years ago, but it doesn't bode well...
